Nomenclature is the manner in which names are assigned. We collect names and titles and then we reveal the story behind that name.

Naming the band seems to fill all musicians with dread. We were no different, and I could lie and say it was the first thing I thought of but it most certainly wasn’t. Those names shall remain between me and myself!

Smog had a fantastic song called “I Break Horses” which I have always loved, and seeing it written down, within the more abstract context of a band name, it seemed to be nicely ambiguous.

Some names tell you what kind of music you’re getting and I liked the fact that ‘I Break Horses’ didn’t at all. It also didn’t feel like a pretentious name, so… it was a fairly straightforward choice!
