A song is a key for locked memory boxes. A song can transport you back through time, giving you a chance to relive moments and ideas that occurred back when you first heard that song. A song is not just a song; it is also a story.

When I was in grade 6, my parents bought me a Sony Walkman. It changed my life. I had four tapes: Ace of Base, Offspring, Boyz II Men and Salt-n-Pepa. I used to listen to these albums over and over. Recess, on the bus, during homework and apparently while we had “silent reading time” in class. I remember trying to sneak my headphones out of my desk and over my ears. One day my teacher Mr. O’Neil finally took my headphones off in front of the entire class and put them on. The song “Shoop” was just blaring. He called me Shoop from that day on. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I was referred to as “Shoop” for two more years.
